If your loved-one has a Long-Term Care Insurance policy from any insurance carrier such as Genworth, MetLife, John Hancock, and others, Galaxy Home Care can help you understand unfamiliar terms and concepts in your coverage.
Beyond providing direct care, Galaxy Home Care will assist clients and their families in navigating the process of using their long-term care insurance benefits. This can be a complex process, and we will support with the following:
- Verifying Coverage and Eligibility: We will confirm that a client’s specific long-term care policy covers in-home care services. Galaxy Home Care will also help determine if the client meets the “benefit triggers,” which typically require the person to need assistance with a certain number of ADLs (often two or more).
- Facilitating the Claims Process: Galaxy Home Care will assist with the paperwork and documentation required to file a claim. This may include:
- Completing provider statements and submitting proof of their qualifications.
- Obtaining and submitting the necessary medical documentation, such as the attending physician’s statement and a nursing assessment or plan of care.
- Working with the insurance company on your behalf.
- Developing a Care Plan: Based on the client’s needs and client’s insurance policy’s coverage, the Galaxy Home Care will develop a customized and flexible Care Plan. This Plan will outline the specific services to be provided and the frequency of care, which can range from a few hours a day to 24/7 support.
- Billing and Reimbursement: Galaxy Home Care will manage the billing process, submitting invoices to the insurance company to ensure the client is reimbursed for the covered services. We will help keep track of the elimination period (the waiting period before benefits begin) and monitor payments to ensure they are made in a timely manner.
Our main objective is to provide you and your loved-one with the best in-home care around, and to take away the worry about your Long-Term Care Insurance.
