We want to personally update you on the situation with COVID-19 and the steps we are taking to ensure the health and safety of our clients, families, caregivers and staff.
We believe that home remains the safest place for you or your loved one, as indications show that the virus is spread more quickly in larger group or public settings. Possible exposure will remain the lowest for those who are able to stay in their homes with limited outside contact. For this reason, we feel fortunate to be able to provide care that can keep people at home and limit their exposure through personalized care and support.
And while most cases of COVID-19 are mild, causing only fever and cough, a small percentage of cases become severe and may progress quickly, particularly in the elderly and among people with underlying medical conditions. Because this is the primary population that we serve, we understand you may have concerns. For that reason, we want to share with you how our organization is responding to the threat of COVID-19.
We are following updates and procedures from the CDC, State Department of Health, local and county authorities, the Home Care Association of America, and other agencies and resources.
We are vigilant about our need to help protect our staff and clients from illness be it the flu, COVID-19, or any other communicable disease.

Galaxy has been exceptional in providing the support and guidance we needed for my mom at home after hospitalization. Over the years, as mom's condition progressed, she needed to rely more on the support of her aides. Galaxy office staff work closely with our family, making sure mom continues to feel comfortable and safe. I cannot say enough about the integrity and professionalism of each of her aides. The effort of care and respect they have for her needs is evident. At Galaxy the admin and support staff go above and beyond and I am forever grateful!

Words cannot fully express to you how wonderful our family’s experience was with Galaxy Home Care, but I’ll try my best. My aunt fell and was admitted to truly horrific rehab center in Bay Ridge. The staff were mean, insensitive, and at times neglectful of her and the other patients in their care. I was there every day with her, but I was so scared to leave her at night. I was getting reports from her roommate that she was trying to climb out of bed and that the rehab staff were doing nothing to keep her safe. This prompted us to find a 24/7 bed side aid service which led us to Galaxy. They were super responsive, assigning her a night time aid on the same day we called and also getting coverage for her over a holiday weekend. The staff is all women, and they are very experienced in caring for people with dementia/Alzheimer’s. Many of the women were wonderful with my aunt, encouraging her to go to her PT/OT as well as getting her to participate in the nursing home social activities. While there were some that she preferred over others, most of the female aids that worked with my aunt knew what they were doing and were confident in taking over without me needing to show them how to be with her. We did have concerns over one aid (more a personality mismatch with my aunt), but the office coordinators and her case manager were wonderful in receiving our feedback and also worked to get staff that she did well with onto her schedule. I cannot thank Galaxy home care enough in helping my aunt during a really challenging time in her life. They also gave me peace of mind in (especially when I left at night) so I could rest and return during the days fully recharged. Thank you so much for the patient and loving care you gave to my aunt.

I can't say enough about the service Ben at Galaxy provided to ensure I had the best care possible for my 89 year old father who had dimentia and also took a fall recently. Ben took the time to really understand our needs as a family, given the challenging circumstances with his recent fall that immobilized my father to a degree. We were given the services of Kalu Odin whom for a month, who took care of my father like he was his own son, and I felt Kalu to be part of the family. He was absolutely attentive in every aspect and truly helped my father's recovery process. He loves what he does, and it shows with his empathy and his diligence with dad, who took a great liking to Kalu. Dad is doing much better, and I attribute that to Kalu ,Ben, and the Galaxy team!
